Ten Things to Love about Niseko’s New Ski and Snowboard Shop, Rhythm Base.

This winter, Niseko’s largest and most comprehensively stocked ski and snowboard store will open its doors on Koen Avenue at the top of Hirafu Village. Conveniently located across the road from Ki Niseko, the shop is within walking distance from the Hirafu Gondola. There is definitely a lot to love about Rhythm Base, check out our top reasons why this will be Niseko’s hottest shopping spot!

  1. Huge Ski Range Including Armada, Rossignol, Volkl and K2

Rhythm has been in operation in Niseko for 14 years, giving us plenty of time to align with the best brands in the world. Plus, our experience means we know which brands and models are perfect for Niseko’s unique conditions. In our new store, customers will be able to rent or buy from our biggest and best range ever!

  • Snowboards from Burton, Gnu, Capita, Jones and More

Just like our ski range, our snowboard selection has been curated after years of riding and retailing in Niseko. Whether you want to cruise the groomers, ride the powder or try out the terrain parks, we’ll have the right snowboard available for you to rent or buy.

  • Extensive Retail Range Including Brands Like Arc’teryx, Oakley, Roxy, Volcom, Anon sand Giro

Niseko is known for its incredible powder, which means it’s also prone to cold and snowy weather conditions. Our new shop floor will be packed with accessories from our favourite ski and snowboard brands, providing plenty of warmth, protection, comfort and the ultimate cool factor.

  • Most Parking of Any Retail Space in Niseko.

Adjacent to the new shop will be 40 car spaces, more than any other retail outlet in town. This will make pick-up and drop-off a breeze and ensure customers feel comfortable parking, staying and browsing for as long as they like.

  • Specialist Ski and Snowboard Waxing and Tuning Service

Rhythm Base will include a new branch of Rhythm Tunes, offering a full range of repair services along with spare parts, edging, waxing and binding mounts. Our highly trained technicians operate the latest technology from Wintersteiger, including a Future Machine, which uses state of the art, infra-red technology, making waxing more efficient and effective.

  • Friendly and Helpful Staff

We refer to ourselves as the friendly experts! Our staff all love living and working in the mountains and are more than happy to share their experiences with customers. If you’re looking for advice on what skis or snowboard to rent or buy, or what kind of accessories you need, or simply want to know where to ride that day, come in and have a chat.

  • Best Coffee in Niseko!

Our in-house coffee shop, Gloorious Coffee, winner of What’s on Niseko’s ‘Best Coffee’ award last season, will open a new café inside Rhythm Base. Gloorious will be serving its famous coffee along with snacks, sandwiches and plenty of tasty treats to keep you energised on the slopes.

  • Brand New, Architecturally Designed Building

The new building has been custom-designed by famed Sapporo based architect Koichiro Ishiguro, who is responsible for other iconic Niseko buildings including AYA, Suiboku and Panorama. Ishiguro-san’s vast knowledge combined with Rhythm’s 30 years of snowsports experience means the building has been constructed to ensure a streamlined and comprehensive rental experience, allowing customers to pick up their gear with ease and be on the mountain faster.

  • Custom Ski and Snowboard Boot Fitting Plus Boots from Fischer, Dalbello, Nitro and Salomon

Along with its original locations, Rhythm Base will provide a new home to Boot Solutions, Niseko’s most respected boot fitting service. The team of qualified podiatrists at Boot Solutions is run by foot and ankle surgeon Dr Ned Buckley. Also available will be an extensive range of ski and snowboard boot models from leading brands.

  • Bar and Event Space

Keep an eye on our website, newsletter, Facebook and Instagram because Rhythm Base will house a space to support local events like movie screenings, art and photography shows, music and more.

Other services on offer at Rhythm Base include free pick up and drop off, free gear swaps and multi-resort bookings. Rental and retail operations at Rhythm’s original store, Rhythm Main Store, are set to continue, offering the same expert service it’s famous for. It will also be ‘business as usual’ around the corner at Rhythm Summit, which specialises in backcountry ski and snowboard gear. Rhythm also operates service counters within the Hyatt House and Aya Niseko hotels. If you’re heading to Hakuba you can visit us there too! Rhythm is located in the Wadano area, next to the Mominoki Hotel.
