Pre-booking of equipment is possible but must be booked two days in advance. For bookings please download the booking form and send it to summit@rhythmjapan.com
Although we try our best to match any requests for specific equipment, we cannot guarantee it. The equipment may be rented out by somebody else or it may have been damaged by a previous renter and therefore unable for selection.
Conditions can also change frequently so our staff will always be on hand to select the most suitable equipment for the customer’s needs.
As a premium package customer you can hold on to your existing equipment and take advantage of our special offer, which allows you to hire touring equipment for a discounted price, starting at ¥5000 for one day.
Rhythm Summit specialises in touring equipment so for non-touring equipment we would recommend renting from the main store as they have a much larger selection of skis from groomer skis all the way through to powder specific skis.
We have cartridges available from Arva, Mammut and BCA available for purchase or rent. We also have the Pieps jetforce backpacks available for rent or purchase. At this moment we are unable to offer any refills on empty canisters.
We have a slightly different disclaimer than the main shop. For pre-bookings of more than 5 days we do allow guides to pick up gear on your behalf. We require payment in advance as well as credit card details and signed disclaimers. The bindings will not be set so will need to be done by yourself or the guide.
We do always recommend coming into store to get safely set up and chat to the staff about the most suitable equipment for your needs so having a guide pick it up on your behalf should be the last resort.
Traditionally shaped but still a bucketload of width underfoot, the Navis Freebird is the ultimate ski-anywhere touring ski. Rockered tip and tail increase float and manoeuvrability with the beefy 102mm waist providing all the float you need for powder without being a nuisance in harder conditions. Cambered underfoot for strong, powerful alpine style turns that grip and accelerate you through the turn. Lightweight without sacrificing downhill performance so you can be confident that each turn you make is supported by a ski that is purpose built to go anywhere. 3400g/pair in the 179cm model.
A king among powder ready splitboards, the Jones Hovercraft Splitboard features quality construction that makes every trail your playground. Made with Jones Directional Rocker profile, the Jones Hovercraft Splitboard has a rockered nose that floats effortlessly through every condition while the camber under foot offers the power and board feel that longtime riders crave. A volume-shifted design allows you to size down from your usual snowboard length, making your climb easier and your way back down a total blast while keeping the superior surfy ride you want for the softer, fresher conditions.
The Deacon Jr provides a solid platform for learning for young skiers. Lightweight, sturdy composite core gives them the confidence to really work the pizza/French fry routine to their hearts content. Then step it up to parallel turns with the assistance of tip rocker for easier turn initiation.
The M5 Mantra is back for another round after its stellar debut last season. Quickly gaining a reputation as a more accessible version of the Mantra, this ski will turn anybody into a freeride hero. With Volkl’s fresh Titanal Frame construction this ski sheds weight where it isn’t needed and concentrates power into only the most important spots on the ski, resulting in a stable, smooth ride quality that boosts grip in variable conditions and handles high speeds with ease. Carbon Tips help to reduce swing weight in the extremities of the ski and therefore enhance agility and mobility in tight lines without negatively affecting the high-speed carving performance. Let’s not forget the 96mm waist and tip and tail rocker which work in tandem to produce exceptional off-piste performance and float. This ski perfectly encapsulates the ideals of modern ski design making it a great candidate for the elusive ‘one-ski-quiver’.
Volkl’s premiere big mountain powder ski, the Confession leverages the Titanal Band Tech and Carbon Stringers to deliver a big, stable, powerful platform that demands hard, fast skiing. With 117mm of ski underfoot and tip/tail rocker, this ski has float for days and excellent manoeuvrability in deep snow.
With an 80mm waist, the new Deacon 80 is a perfect balance between hard and soft snow performance. XTD Tip and Tail rocker work to enhance turn initiation and handling off-piste, without compromising the hard snow grip that is further bolstered by Volkl’s signature 3D Glass construction. With a blend of three radii in the sidecut, this ski easily adapts to a variety of turn shapes at any speed. Steel in the construction helps to dampen the ride quality and give you a smoother, more powerful feel on-piste. Full Sidewall ensures maximum energy transmission through to the edges with excellent torsional rigidity resulting in category-leading edge grip and turning precision.
The 90Eight W is a sporty, agile all-mountain ski with a freeride design that enables precise, playful movement through all terrain. With an accessible flex profile and rockered tip and tail, this ski excels at a variety of speeds and is great for throwing down in tight tree lines and anywhere else your off-piste exploring takes you. Tapered tips allow excellent flotation without any tip hooking, giving you precise steering control. With a relatively stiff flex underfoot this ski grips well in a carve too and handles variable snow conditions with ease. 3D Ridge construction keeps weight low, making an already nimble and agile design even more so. Thanks to their low weight, these even make a great touring option – pair these up with your favourite touring binding and go exploring!
