As Niseko’s only seasonal program for young shredders, Futures Progression Camps offer local up-and-comers 12-weeks of weekly on-snow learning with the same instructor and group participants all season long, offering a specialised and focused approach to learning in a comfortable and supportive environment. Our seasonal program provides structure to the season with individual goal setting and events to focus progression and enjoy the results.

Futures Session Week 1 & 2 08:30 – 15:00 Hirafu Season warm-up, goals set up for the season, group dynamic and skill development focus on core skills. Coaches will focus on setting the right pace and teamwork environment for a successful season.
Futures Session Week 3 to 8 08:30 – 15:00 Hirafu Beginners to Intermediate: focus on achieving a balanced stance on different terrains and conditions, with exercises to reach the next level. Exploring new terrain in the second half of the program.
Intermediate & Up: focus on skill development to achieve season goals and competition schedules. Building confidence in air awareness, freestyle, freeriding, and independence.
Backcountry Awareness Day 1 February 08:30 – 15:00 Hirafu or Moiwa An introduction to the backcountry, building skills in avalanche safety & rescue techniques. For Intermediate and up groups only.
Mid Season Point 8 February On Slope A great opportunity to check with the coach on the athlete’s progression and their progress toward achieving their goals.
Day Trip End of Feb/ March 08:00 – 15:00 Rusutsu/ Kiroro/ Moiwa/ Nakayama Pass Groups will have the opportunity to visit other ski resorts. *Conditions apply.
Futures Session Week 9 – 12 08:30 – 15:00 Hirafu The snow starts melting slowly, so it’s time to apply the season’s learning to focus on new drills: Freestyle, Snowpark, Short Turns, Carving, and tree riding among others.

Crazy Helmet Day & Family Shred 15 February 08:30 – 12:30 Mini’s & Futures Hirafu YES This tradition occurs at the halfway point of the program, and this year, we invite parents to observe the progress our athletes have made! Prepare for a day filled with fun, prizes for the best group efforts, and recognition for outstanding individual creations.
Powder Freeride Kiroro Open End of Feb 07:30 – 17:00 Futures Kiroro NOT A freeride competition in Kiroro on a gentler slope than what is used at Grand Hirafu. Groups will attend, and the event is all about participation and fun! More info.
Rhythm Rail Jam Grom Series March Evening Futures Hirafu Sun Sports NOT A competition for intermediate & up groups who set this challenge at the beginning of the season.
Banked Slalom March 08:30 – 16:30 Futures Hanazono NOT An exciting event combining speed, skill, and creativity. Participants navigate a winding course featuring banked turns and varied terrain, designed to challenge riders and showcase their carving abilities.
End of Season Event 22 March 08:30 – 16:30 Everyone Moiwa YES Our famous end-of-season party, where we all gather to celebrate another season full of learning and great memories. Treasure Hunt, Dress Up Day, and many more surprises!
End Of Season Reports 23 Mar – Mar 29 Futures YES Time to receive feedback from our coaches on how the athletes have performed and what’s next! Mini’s will track their progress on a beautiful progression passport.

  • When will I know if I have secured a spot in the program?*
    Registration will be open until December 06th with program placements confirmed by December 20th.  Programs require a minimum of 4 athletes per group/level in order to operate.
    Waitlist positions for the program will be confirmed from December 22nd.
  • What’s the Holiday Program?*
    The Holiday Program is an add on available for our Seasonal programs that runs during 6 different National Holidays and Sundays to allow the athletes and coaches to have more time on the slopes to build their progression
  • Can I sign up for an individual session of the Holiday Program?*
    The program is available only to be booked in full.
  • What are the progress reports and when will you be providing them?
    Our coaches are serious about progressing our Futures Athletes. During the season we will conduct regular skills assessments at the start, middle & end of the program to track our athletes’ progress in a number of snowsports skills. This will provide a foundation for planning our sessions, working towards goals & also tracking our athlete’s progress over the course of their time in the Futures program. We will provide these reports to all parents at the halfway mark & end of the season.
    Mini Futures will be provided with a progression booklet to be completed across the season and track their progress and next goals.
  • Refund for Missed Session
    Our program is offered at a fixed price for the entire season regardless of how many days you can attend during the season.  We are unable to offer pro-rata refunds or rescheduled lessons due to missed training days.
    We will offer a refund or reschedule only for the following reasons:
    • The training session has been cancelled by Rhythm Futures.
    • There is a season-ending injury – a valid medical certificate is required.
