Is there anything better than unwinding after a day on the slopes with a few beers and a movie night with your best buds? We don’t think so. Which is why we are stoked to announce that the Yukimi Film Festival will be returning for its second edition in 2025!
WHAT IS THE YUKIMI FILM FESTIVAL?
A showcase of art, creativity, and good vibes, all within the heart of Hakuba, Yukimi promises to be an unforgettable celebration of ‘the Hakuba experience’, showcased through the lens of our local creatives.
When and where is it all going down?
This year’s event will be taking place on the 15th of March, 2025, at none other than the be-all, end-all of all rental stores within the Hakuba Valley – our newly renovated Rhythm Wadano store.

Time: 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Location: Rhythm Wadano, Hakuba, Nagano
But, What DoES THE HAKUBA EXPERIENCE ENTAIL?
You tell us! The options are endless–whether you want to showcase Hakuba’s epic mountain ranges, you and your mates shredding pow, the best park footage from the winter season, or something more outside the box, it’s up to you. The only requirement? The footage must be filmed within the winter season of 2024/25. Everything else is your choice!
What’s The Prize?
Cash, baby, cold hard cash, and this year there’s a whole lot of it, with total prize pool of ¥400,000 – that’s a lot of bowls of ramen. On top of that, we’ll be giving out a stack of spot prizes, which we won’t name right now but lets just say at least one of them rhymes with pro-go. So, if you want to head home with a wad of cash and a few new goodies, start shooting!

- Crowd Favorite: ¥50,000
Alright, I’m Keen – How Do I sign up?
- Submit your film via WeTransfer. Files up to 2GB are free to send.
- Input your email address.
- Add the following title: YUKIMI – [Your Name]
- Email to: megumi@rhythmjapan.com
- Bang! Your film has now been entered to the Yukimi Film Festival. Whooo!
Anything else we need to know?
- Films featuring illegal activities or nudity will not be accepted.
- Entries will open on December 1st, 2024 and remain open until the closing submission date of Feb 28th, 2025.
- Any music used in films must be copyright free or have the correct copyright approval.
- All accepted film submissions will be free to use by Rhythm Japan on social media and marketing channels.
- Films must be submitted in either MP4 or MOV video formats.

You get shooting, we’ll put the beers on ice, and then we’ll all rendezvous in March for a wicked night celebrating all things Hakuba livin’, sound like a plan? Ganbatte!
