Rent, Ride, Repeat! Our Top 8 Reasons to Rent Skis or a Snowboard in Japan.

Niseko and Hakuba is home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions in the world, which is why it’s so important your equipment matches up to the hype! The best way to do this is rent, because you’re guaranteed to have the best gear to suit the conditions and your ability. Here are our top reasons why renting is the way to go next time you visit Niseko and Hakuba!

1. Travel Light

Hiring your gear means you don’t have to cart bulky skis and snowboards across the globe! You’ll also minimise the risk of paying for excess baggage. Another bonus is that, if you’re off to explore other parts of Japan, you won’t have to drag heavy bags along with you. One of the best ways to explore Japan is by train but, unfortunately, they don’t accommodate for long or awkwardly sized baggage. And here’s another hint, it’s very hard to wedge a ski or snowboard bag into a taxi!

Travel light –  trains, planes and automobiles

2. Ride The Latest Gear!

The snow conditions in Niseko are unlike most other parts of the world. On average, the resorts receive around 14m of snow, most of which falls as pure powder. You’ll notice local skiers and boarders are riding powder specific skis and snowboards. In fact most of them don’t bother owning anything else! So, if you want to do what the locals are doing, leave your own equipment at home and rent fat skis or a powder board that suits the conditions perfectly

3. Swap it Out

Niseko and Hakuba gets heavy snowfall but you never know when a string of sunny days will come along! To accommodate for changing conditions, Rhythm allows premium and standard renters to swap their gear at any time during their stay. You can also swap from skis to a snowboard or vice-versa for no extra charge! *Free swap within the same packages
