Dreaming of Skiing in Niseko? So are we!

We never stop dreaming about winter! Here are five things we’re looking forward to about skiing in Niseko once the temperatures drop and that famous snow starts to fall…

SKIING NISEKO’S FAMOUS POWDER

It goes without saying that this would be on the top of our list! Niseko receives, on average, 14 meters of snow annually and majority of this falls as light dry powder snow. Yep, all the amazing things you’ve heard about skiing in Niseko are true and we can’t wait for season 2020/21 to roll around so we can do it all again.

EATING ‘TILL WE DROP!

Niseko isn’t just powder heaven, it’s a foodie haven! The Niseko area is home to some of the most varied and delicious cuisine of any resort in the world. You can try it all, from bowls of steaming, tummy filling ramen to high end, Michelin-starred dining and everything in between. Not sure where to start on your eating adventure? Our staff always know the best spots to eat, drink and be merry! Feel free to ask when you drop in to rent your skis or snowboards.

RETAIL THERAPY, APRÈS STYLE!

Given the situation with COVID-19 it’s very difficult for us to determine exactly how operations will look across our stores but we’re certainly planning on running at full capacity and offering all our usual expert services. This includes our newest store, Rhythm Base which is located at the top end of town, walking distance from the Hirafu Gondola. Here you can rent the latest equipment, much of which has been chosen specifically for the unique experience of skiing in Niseko. You can also shop from our range of gear from the best ski and snowboard brands from around the world. Plus check out Rhythm Main St, along with ZAKA, Niseko’s finest luxury boutique. All our stores are open ‘till late so you can browse until long after you’ve put the skis away for the day!

SPENDING TIME ON THE SLOPES AS A FAMILY

Nothing beats skiing in Niseko with the family! There are slopes to suit all levels and ages plus, at Rhythm, we rent the equipment to match. We make renting easy for families by having the best possible gear and knowledgeable technicians who will make sure every member is kitted out and comfortable. Also, our service is super-fast so you’ll all be on the slopes faster than your kids can say ‘I want a hot chocolate!’

SKIING IN THE NISEKO BACKCOUNTRY

If you’re an experienced skier, a trip into Niseko’s backcountry should be at the top of your priority list.  Rhythm has everything you need from backcountry specific ski and binding setups or splitboards to telescopic poles, waterproof / windproof outerwear and all the necessary safety equipment. You can rent or make a purchase from many of the best brands on the market. Interested? Once you’ve got the gear, get in touch with one of Niseko’s many experienced guiding companies and head off on an adventure!
