Our Top Reasons Why We Love Niseko For Beginners!

You may be wondering, what is Niseko like for beginners? If you’re a first time skier or snowboarder, we think Niseko is actually the perfect place to learn and progress. There are plenty of gentle slopes and, thanks to the powder snow, any crash landings will be nice and soft. You can also rent or buy the best equipment, apparel and accessories to make sure your first days on the slopes are a great success…

Renting the Best Beginner Gear is Quick and Easy.

Rhythm Japan is the best place to rent ski and snowboard equipment.
Just Some of the Skis Available For Beginner Skiers

For your first-time skiing, it’s important you’re using gear that is perfectly suited to your size, weight and ability level. We recommend renting so you don’t break the budget before you’ve even tested out the slopes! Beginners will need a shorter ski that reaches around chin height and offers a softer, more forgiving construction that will assist with balance and control. At Rhythm, we have plenty of equipment to suit beginners in both our Standard and Premium ranges. Renting from our Premium range means you will be kitted out in the latest equipment and have the option to change skis if you progress quickly.  We also make renting super easy by providing an easy in-store check in system and Service Centers at some of Niseko’s best hotels.

You Can Book a Lesson so you Progress Quickly.

Book a Lesson With a Qualified Instructor.

For both adults and children, having a ski lesson is by far the best way to learn and progress. By learning the basics, you will be preparing yourself for a lifetime of enjoying the sport. Niseko is home to many world class ski schools staffed by highly experience instructors. Feel free to ask your rental technician which ski school will be the most suitable as we’re happy to make recommendations!

Buy the Essentials at the Best Price.

We understand that you may not want to spend a fortune the first time you try skiing! However, it’s important that you stay warm, comfortable and safe on the mountains. At Rhythm for safety and hygiene reasons we do not rent softgoods, however we do offer our Starter Pack, which includes one pair of Kuma goggles and a pair of gloves from OYUKI. These items have been specifically chosen because they suit Japan’s unique weather conditions and are suitable for men, women and children. Ask our expert staff in store for more information!

Niseko is a Beginner Skier’s Paradise

While Hokkaido has a reputation for being the powder capital of the world, it’s not all steep slopes and off-piste riding, which is why we love Niseko for beginners. There are plenty of groomed, easy runs across the different resort areas, along with ski carpets and all the infrastructure required to make learning to turn a breeze.
