Rhythm Japan is proud to present the second Yukimi Film Festival–a showcase of art, creativity, and good vibes, all within the heart of Hakuba.
The Yukimi Film Festival aims to bring local filmmakers together to highlight the uniqueness of the Hakuba experience through a variety of short films. The options are endless–whether you want to showcase Hakuba’s picturesque mountain ranges, you and your mates shredding pow, the best park footage from the winter season, or something more outside the box–it’s up to you. The only parameter? The footage must be filmed within the winter season of 2024/25. Everything else is your choice!

No! The Yukimi Film Festival is open to locals and visitors alike.
Each film should be no more than 5 minutes in length.
We will be displaying up to 15 films on the night so we ask applicants to strictly keep within this time limit.
All submissions should meet the brief: “The Hakuba Experience”.
The following won’t be accepted:
- Off topic submissions
- Submissions which go over the five minute limit.
- Submissions which include drug use or criminal acts.
- Submissions which disrespect the local area or culture.
- Submissions which contain explicit nudity.

We will choose 15 submissions to screen at the Yukimi Film Fest. We will contact all successful applicants shortly after the submission cut-off date of Feb 21 2024.

Our local guest judging panel cover diverse skill sets including pro riding, cinematography, and a love for all things Hakuba. They will be judging based on the following criteria:
- Meeting the Brief (The Hakuba Experience)
- Overall creativity/Director’s vision
- Stand out feature
- Engagement and Flow
