Japan has a special landscape, with approximately 80% of the country being covered by mountains. For mountain bike riders this equates to endless opportunities to explore and ride, but a quick trail search for mountain bike trails underwhelming results for those planning a future bike trip. This comes as a surprise with mountain biking growing at such a rapid speed globally, and a few summers ago I found myself looking for trails and people to ride them with. On my quest I found those things and so much more, this is my story.
