On February 10, the final Niseko Rail Jam of the winter 2018 season went underway! This was the most successful Rail Jam by far. There were so many incredible guests and riders that came to perform for the hungry spectators. The weather was also a balmy 2 degrees Celsius, so being outside for a long period of time was pleasant and (relatively) balmy! There were tons of delicious food and drinks, banana boat races, Taiko drummers, fire dancers, Nitro guest judges, and back flips.
The event kicked off with an awesome performance from the local Taiko drummers.
Two guest judges from Nitro joined our panel: Nils Anderson and Marcus Keller. They were given an awesome show from the riders who participated.
The crowd was also involved in competition as well, and the winners received some Oyuki and Burton merch!
The in-between heat antics gave the riders the chance to rest up and think of what tricks they’d perform next.
There was an awesome fire dance before the final round!
The winners were:
1st (men) – Sean Macphee
2nd – Blake Marshall
3rd – Jye Kearney
4th – Tim Herbert
1st (women) – Saara Handa
2nd: Nicole Lejdeby
Thanks to all of those who came! We can’t wait for next year’s Rail Jam. They keep getting more epic.
